The Pissed Take - Captain America: Brave New World

CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD -or- CAP'N CRUNCH: MARVEL NEEDS A BRAND NEW SHITCK AKA 180 million bucks of background noise.

CA: BNW is the 4th Captain America movie, and the 35th MCU movie. SAM WILSON, here formerly known as Falcon, was introduced by STAN LEE and GENE COLAN in Captain America #117 (1969). He is the 2nd Black superhero (behind Black Panther), and the very first African American superhero.

My guy deserved better.

NO SPOILERS

Sam is working the full-tilt boogie- full time, as the good Captain. Some thieves have stolen a new super metal (guess) and he's sent to get it back. Harrison Ford (who else does he play?) is the president and wants to bring this new stuff to the world, but f#ckery happens so... yeah-no.

There is a decent movie here underneath a ton of fluff and foofaraw. Apparently, there were a decent amount of re-shoots (not the best sign) after some unflattering test screenings, and the end result is little better than a Tijuana hack-job.

Too many characters, plot lines, and forced intrigue are ineptly Elmer's glued together instead of focusing on the core of the story. This is something Captain America: Winter Soldier did quite well.

THE GOOD:

ANTHONY MACKIE and HARRISON FORD have good chemistry when the movie lets them do their thing. Isn't really concerned with setting up a 10 movie arc, attempts to stand on it's own.

THE BAD:

Wastes GIANCARLO ESPOSITO, CARL LUMBLY, TIM BLAKE NELSON and their characters. Doesn't pay off a certain character that shouldn't have been spoiled in trailers. Another forgetful musical score. More flatulent Marvel bang-bang that further takes the special out of SVFX.
